On the afternoon of May 28, 2024 Symposium on Dual-System Education (Continental Class Program) was held in HFU. Present at the meeting were Professor Lange and Professor Schmidt, heads of dual-system project of University of Applied Sciences Emden-Leer in Germany, heads of dual-system project and Human Resources Department of Continental Group, Wang Qidong, Chair of HFU Council.

At the meeting, Wang Qidong expressed his gratitude to University of Applied Sciences Emden-Leer and Continental Group for their support in the University dual-system project. He said, as the first dual-system program for Emerging Engineering Education in China, HFU’s Continental Class has cultivated students for eight consecutive years; at present, Hefei University is promoting the “three-in-one” concept (integration of program, industry and employment) for talent training, carrying out in-depth teaching reform in line with the local industrial development; the construction of dual-system Continental Class is expected to continuously deepen cooperation, explore and innovate talent training mode, and cultivate more high-quality applied sci-tech talents who are well-equipped to meet the needs of enterprises and social development.

At the meeting, head of Human Resources Department of the Continental Group analyzed the dual-system Continental Class program and the feedback of the questionnaire survey. A group discussion on the current project and the questionnaire was then conducted, and a consensus was reached on such issues as the course arrangement, language learning, enterprise internship.

Hefei University has been learning from Germany’s advanced concept of dual-system higher education and has been jointly offering Continental Class program with University of Applied Sciences Emden-Leer and Continental Group since 2016.
